About The Panic Room

The Panic Room started as a husband-and-wife dream back in 2016, right here in Gravesend, Kent.

What began as a small pop-up escape room quickly grew into something much bigger.

Over the past decade, we’ve designed and built more than 30 escape rooms, games and interactive experiences, welcoming thousands of players through our doors and creating experiences for other entertainment businesses along the way.

At the heart of everything we do has always been one simple idea: bringing people together to have fun, solve problems and create brilliant memories.

How The Panic Room Online Began

In 2020, when our physical venues were temporarily forced to close during the pandemic, we suddenly had to find a completely different way to keep creating.

So we started designing escape room experiences that people could play from home.

What began as a way of keeping The Panic Room going quickly became something much bigger than we ever expected.

Our online escape rooms allowed friends and families to play together even when they were hundreds — or thousands — of miles apart.

Since then, our online games have been played by nearly one million people across more than 50 countries around the world.

Something created from our home in Gravesend had suddenly found players all over the world, which still feels pretty incredible.

More Than Just Online Escape Rooms

As The Panic Room Online grew, so did the things we created.

Alongside our online escape rooms, we began producing our own puzzle books, print-and-play games, murder mysteries and other puzzle experiences.

Today, The Panic Room Online is home to a huge collection of original games designed for friends, families, couples and teams to enjoy wherever they are.

Whether you're solving a murder mystery around the kitchen table, tackling an online adventure with friends across the country, or looking for something completely different for a team social, we want every game to give you the same feeling we aim for in our physical escape rooms:

A Small Business Doing Big Things

Despite everything that has changed over the years, The Panic Room is still an independent family business.

Behind the games are real people designing puzzles, creating stories, testing ridiculous ideas and constantly thinking about what we can make next.

We’re incredibly proud of how far we've come since that first little escape room in 2016, and even more grateful to everyone who has played one of our games, visited one of our venues, recommended us to a friend or supported us along the way.

Ten years later, we're still doing what we love:
